Cala Restaurant San Fransisco

Hello,

If you’re ever in San Francisco  I recommend you go to “Cala” it is a hip Mexican infusion restaurant that is nestled in the Hayes Valley at 149 Fell St ,San Francisco.

But make a reservation in advance as it does book out fast. I made our reservation over 3 months before.

Our Meal was AMAZING. I have never tasted such great food.

My Favourite dish was the “Raw hog Island sweet water oyster ” the sauce that accompanied the oysters was so flavoursome and spicy I wish I could have gotten a bottle of it to bring home. ( If only they sold it).

The Staff were go friendly and helpful as we had a bit of trouble with the menu as come of it was in Mexican. Our waiter recommend dishes and drinks that were most popular.

They were all surprised that we were from Australia and how we had heard of the restaurant.  (We saw it on some cooking show on ABC)

The Restaurant has dimmed lighting which adds to the atmosphere.

Raw hog Island sweet water oyster (half am dozen)

Frito mixto with lingcod and squid. The squid in this dish just melted in your mouth.

Quesadillas with queries and to a cheese.

Rockfish a la talla. The 2 Different sauces on the fish were great I really liked the green pesto with jalapeños.

Dessert was amazing but I forgot what they were call and they are not on the menu as they have different Desserts each night.
Hope you enjoyed my little review.
Let me know if you have ever been to Cala and what you thought.
