So sorry I haven’t been blogging but the silly season started early for me this year and I have been flat out for quite a few weeks now with heaps of social outings.
Today I thought I would write about the Taste Of Melbourne Festival I attended a few weeks ago.
The festival was held at the pelican lawn in Albert park lake. This was a great venue to hold this kind of event.
I got there quite early as i don’t work to faraway but I did have to wait for a few friends to finish work.
Once we were in the party started ….. We headed straight to the Rekorderlig Tent which was decked out with bean bag loungers, ping pong and connect 4. We had a great few drinks there before we moved on to the food.
Next stop Movida. We had the Pinchitos Morunos which is Flinders Island lamb- marinated in Moorish spices & cooked over charcoal – The meat was so tender and flavorsome.
My Husband also had Chocos Con Garbanzos – cuttlefish and chorizo braise with saffron, paprika & chickpeas. I was not so impressed with this it was a little too over powering.
This year i tried to try different places that I hadn’t tired before.
Gazi – this restaurant belong to George Calambaris I have been dying to try it out since it opened.
We had Saganaki Cheese – honey, balsamic, lemon and the Soft Shell Crab Souvlaki mint, coriander, honey, mayo.
The Soft Shell Crab Souvlaki was AMAZING… The Crab was cooked to perfection and the bread was as soft and tasty.
Last but not least dessert.
First stop Burch and Purchese there Explosive Raspberry Tube raspberry, milk choc, popping candy, marshmallowwas to die for so much flavor and different textures. It was GREAT.
Last stop N2 Ice- Cream – We bought the vanilla and salted caramel one it was so creamie and the salted caramel was in a siringe and I ate it right out of it LOL.
On the way out I went over to the Olsson’s Salt stand. I bought some last year and i love there chilli, garlic and salt rub I use it on everything!I bought some more and also got some truffle salt FANCY….
Over all is was a great night went home with some goodies and had a great meal.
